Yoga for Trauma

Sharon teaches Yoga for trauma to individuals and groups. Sharon has years of experience working with people who have experienced trauma through her integrative psychotherapy practice and Yoga classes.

WHAT IS TRAUMA? Psychological trauma occurs when an actual or perceived threat or danger overwhelms a person usual ability to cope. All traumas are stressful, but not all stress is traumatic. Trauma disconnects a person from a feeling of safety and connection to their body.

As a Yoga teacher, it is Sharon’s intention to make her sessions/classes as warm, inviting and non-threatening as possible. Trauma-sensitive Yoga practice can help people, “befriend their bodies”, this is a crucial aspect for the recovery of trauma. With gentle practice people can begin the path to recovery in a safe environment with an experienced gentle practitioner.

Sharon continues to train and develop professionally in Yoga for recovery of trauma.
